John was the person who kept soc up and going after Saint started it and found herself running it alone after the other founders moved on. More on that with my next article next month. As such, he was the first person many of us who have been around for awhile had contact with in soc, so he's kind of a hero to the geezers among us. He has to travel with his job now, so we don't see him online as much as we'd like, but important things like putting food on the table come first. He told me that, like the baseball players in "Field of Dreams", if we invite him, he will come. Baseball is the appropriate analogy because he used to play back in the day. At 13 he was 6'1 right hand pitcher and played some first base. Personally, I'd have hit against him, but I would have been 18 then and unless he could throw a really good curve I'd have taken him out of the park. I never got around to asking him how his curve was.

Today John enjoys watching, again watching, and drag racing.  I have my suspicions about anybody who states in one breath that they like watching drag racing and in another breath saying that their dream car is a 1968 Mustang with a 428 Cobra jet engine.  He and Sean are going to restore one and rumble down the road with Lynyrd Skynyrd blasting out of the windows.  But he has no desire to ride a motorcycle, so he's not a complete gearhead.

Apparently back when he was a wee little geezer his dad had to slide to a stop, or lay down his early '70s Harley. It must have made quite an impression on John when he saw his dad completely skinned from his hip to his ankle. Being a motorcycle rider I can attest to the ever present fear of dogs running into the street or people suddenly pulling out in front of us.  So while he sees the appeal, he doesn't have the desire.

Faithfulness

Halo 2 not a challenge anymore? Are you wondering how you can become a more experienced player? Well have I got a challenge for you! One word: "Skulls". In every level in Halo 2 there is a hidden skull. But the thing is you can only obtain them on Legendary, so it will be quite a challenge for some.

Most of you are wondering "How will getting a skull help me become an experienced player?" Well each skull has a mysterious power that will make it harder (or easier) on your campaign. For example, the Blind Skull will make your gun and HUD disappear making it harder to defeat enemies.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22,23)

Faithfulness is importance coupled with commitment. A person is faithful only to what he/she feels is truly important. His/Her commitment can only extend to what he/she sees is worthy of his/her time. Usually we are committed to something in our lives that we see as important and are faithful to it.
